Body on the thinner side, which is on par for other porters. Strong flavor notes of coffee and lighter notes of roasted nuts and malt. The beer finishes with a more refreshing note than is typical with this style. Obviously measure that on a curve, but it's definitely not as dry as many other porters. The Lizards that are more acquainted and like this style were pretty high on this beer. The other Lizards were more on the negative side. So if you're a fan of this style of beer or want to try something new, give it a shot!
Some beers taste exactly like the description; this is one of those beers! Expect the peanut butter to hit you hard in the forefront of the taste. Followed by chocolate notes but at a much lighter level. This beer as a creamy mouth feel and finish, very reminiscent of milk stouts. As far as opinions around the Table, two lizards agreed that more could be done with the chocolate flavor. The peanut butter strength takes the weight out of it. Other members really loved this beer exactly as presented. All in all, a very unique and good beer that is for sure worth your time to try!
This brew is a blend of a smoked porter and atart cherry kriek. As you can imagine this creates an extremely interesting and unique flavor. The Cherry tartness and the porter qualities blend together in an amazing way. Neither flavor overwhelms and creates a balanced tasting. This was extremely well liked across the Table. It's a shame that it's discontinued.
While this is a coffee porter do not expect the coffee to overwhelm the flavoring. There is some creamy sweetness in the flavor profile. I do believe this contributes to a smoother mouth feel. It was very very well liked among most members of the Table. However one Lizard wasn't as impressed and believed he's had it better elsewhere.
A fairly forgettable porter if we're being honest. The description states bold notes of caramel and chocolate. However, none of the Lizards were able to pick any of that out. It has a very thin body and its consistency was similar to water at times. Not well liked around the Table at all. Interestingly enough, there is one can left of this beer in the Lizard Cabinet (our mini fridge) to this day, and we have no plans of ever drinking it. It's pretty much a meme at this point
